In memoriam

Private Thomas Joughin

 

 

Thomas Joughin was born on 12 May 1889 at Ballyduff, King's County, son of farmer William Alfred Joughin and his wife Mary Jane (nee Johnston).

He enlisted in the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons Service Squadron at Enniskillen in August 1915 (No.285).

In May 1917 he transferred to the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry) (No.105468) and was posted to the 60th Company.

Joughin was killed in action on 20 September 1917, aged 27. As he has no know burial place, he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium, Panel 159.
