Transferred to the Military Police
At least eight men of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons Service Squadron were transferred to the Military Mounted Police or Military Foot Police.
Most of these took place on 18 July 1917, when six men of the squadron, part of the 2nd North Irish Horse Regiment, were transferred just prior to that regiment being disbanded.
When transferred to the Military Police, men with the rank of private were promoted to lance corporal to give them sufficient authority to give orders to other private soldiers.
