In memoriam

Tehran War Cemetery

Tehran War Cemetery is situated within the British Embassy residential compound at Gulhek, which is approximately 13 kilometres from Tehran. Within the cemetery is the Tehran Memorial commemorating casualties from both World Wars.

The War Cemetery was built in 1962. There are 412 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-18 war, thirteen of which are unidentified, in this site. All the 1914-18 burials in Tehran War Cemetery have been concentrated from surrounding cemeteries.

One man of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons Service Squadron, Captain Herbert Charles Pallant, is commemorated here.
