Private Christopher Carson


1914-18 Service Medal and Victory Medal of Private Christopher Carson, 6th Inniskilling Dragoons (Service Squadron), Service No. 80.
Carson enlisted in 1914 and served in France with the Inniskilling Dragoons, arriving there with the Squadron on 6 October 1915. In June 1916 the Squadron became part of the 2nd Regiment North Irish Horse. In August 1917 the Regiment was dismounted and became part of the 9th (North Irish Horse) Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers, Carson receiving Service No. 41076. He was one of the many listed as 'missing' after the German offensive in March-April 1918. In 1919 he was discharged to 'Class Z', Army Reserve.
Carson was also entitled to a 1914-15 Star. The whereabouts of this medal is unknown.
