Second Lieutenant William Anderson

Second Lieutenant William Anderson, 15th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles. Formerly a Corporal in the North Irish Horse, Service Nos. 1659 (NIH), and 71488 (Corps of Hussars). Son of John and Robina Anderson of 'Sunbeam', Greenisland, County Antrim. Killed in action on 20 October 1918, aged 23. Buried at Harlebeke New British Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, grave X.B.4. The gravestone inscription reads:
SECOND LIEUTENANT
W. ANDERSON
ROYAL IRISH RIFLES
20TH OCTOBER 1918 AGE 23
THE GLORY DIES NOT
AND THE GRIEF IS PAST
