Rifleman Cecil Charles Hunter Barr (alias Charles Russell), 1st Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, formerly North Irish Horse, Service Nos 20187 (RIR), 2416 (NIH). Born Malton, Yorkshire. Enlisted Bray, County Wicklow. Residence Rathdrum, County Wicklow. Son of Charles A.G. and Annie Barr of Westmorland Villas, Norton, Walton, Yorkshire. Killed in action on 24 March 1918, aged 19. As Barr has no known grave, he is commemorated at Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France, Panels 74-76.
