Private James Magill


Private James Magill, 9th (North Irish Horse) Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers, Service Nos 1805 (NIH), 41435 (RIF). Born Ballymena, County Antrim. Enlisted Antrim. Residence Ballymena. Son of Dyas and Catherine Magill of 25 Springwell Street, Ballymena, County Antrim. Died on 6 June 1918 from wounds received during a French air raid (friendly fire), aged 25. Buried at Ham British Cemetery, Muille-Villette, Somme, France, grave II.E.27. Grave inscription reads:

ROYAL IRISH FUSILIERS
6TH JUNE 1918 AGE 25
THY WILL BE DONE
