Trooper Albert Richards: 'Trotting him up!'

One of a series of hand-drawn postcards by Trooper Albert E. V. Richards of the 10th Royal Hussars (Service No. 1936), addressed to Miss Mary Rust. This postcard reads:

[Front]

Trotting him up!

We were on a horse inspection the other day, and after my horse looking at the "heads", he took fright, and my sketch explains the rest. I had rather a rough time.

A.R. 1915. X.R.H.

[Reverse]

Many thanks for all your letters. I expect to pluck up courage soon and write, but you must be content with this card till then. In the best of health. Albert.
