One of a series of hand-drawn postcards by Trooper Albert E. V. Richards of the 10th Royal Hussars (Service No. 1936), addressed to Miss M. Rust, 37/8 St James's Place, St James's Street, London SW. It reads:

The Cedars stood their ground well, but Shepton won 5 none.

Dear Mary,

I went to the football match and enjoyed it very much but sorry to say we lost and this is my impression of the game. Trusting you received my letter. In the pink myself and hope you are the same.
