Private William J. Acheson

Private Acheson was born at Crownhall, Enniskillen, in August 1896. He enlisted with the North Irish Horse in 1913 and embarked for France with A Squadron on 17 August 1914. At the beginning of 1916 he was injured by a kick to the knee from a horse, and was sent home to recover. He served out the remainder of the war with the North Irish Horse in Antrim.

Note: This image and much of the information above is sourced from Niall Mac Fhionnghaile, Donegal, Ireland and the First World War, 1987, pp.88-92. I have been unable to locate any other record of Private Acheson's service.
