Private William Adams

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not certain, but he appears to be the William Patrick Watt Adams born at Lisnamurrican, Broughshane, County Antrim, the third of seven children of farm labourer Thomas Adams and his wife Esther (née McGrath). My the time of the 1911 Census he was living at Lisnamurrican with his parents and five surviving siblings.

According to the Ballymena Observer of 25 October 1918, Adams (of Aughnadore, Broughshane) had enlisted in the North Irish Horse in the previous week.

Nothing more is known of his military service, but he was probably demobilised in 1919.
