Lance Corporal William G. Duff

 

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known at present.

William G. Duff enlisted in the North Irish Horse on 7 September 1914 (No.1140 – later Corps of Hussars No.71247).

He embarked for France on 3 October 1915, possibly having been attached as a batman to an officer of the 36th (Ulster) Division, which went to France at that time.

Nothing more has been discovered about his service during the war.

On 6 April 1919 he was demobilised and transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve.
