Three Foster brothers

Sergeant and Shoeing Smith John James Foster was aged 24 when he enlisted in the North Irish Horse in March or April 1913 (Service No.836). He served with A Squadron in France, embarking on 17 August 1914.
Corporal Thomas Foster, five years younger than John, joined the North Irish Horse between March and October 1912 (Service No.717). He served with D Squadron, going to France on 1 May 1915, and later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps (No.149718), where he became a Sergeant.
The three brothers were the sons William Foster, blacksmith, and Sarah Isabella Foster of Lisbellaw, County Fermanagh.
