Private Patrick Malone
The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known a present.
Patrick Malone joined the North Irish Horse between 27 June and 3 July 1917 (regimental number between 2560 and 2598 – later Corps of Hussars No.71897). It is not known if this is when he first enlisted of if he was transferred from another regiment.
In January 1918 he embarked for Egypt with a draft of North Irish Horsemen from the Antrim camp. There he was attached to the 1/1st Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers), serving with that regiment in the Palestine campaign. Records show that in October 1919 he was hospitalised due to illness in Rayak (Lebanon). He was still serving in early 1920.
