Private Alexander McLellan

Private McLellan enlisted in the North Irish Horse in June or July of 1915 (Service No.1695). Sent to France as a reinforcement in 1916 or 1917, he was posted to A Company of the 9th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers when the 2nd Regiment North Irish Horse was absorbed into that regiment in September 1917 (Service No.41549). McLellan was initially listed as 'missing' following the German offensive of March-April 1918. He was later confirmed as a prisoner of war.
