Private Daniel Park
Daniel Park (or Parke) was born on 8 November 1899 at Monaghan, Kirkinriola, Ballymena, County Antrim, the third of seven children of agricultural labourer John Park and his wife Sarah (née Craig). By the time of the 1911 Census he was living at nearby Ballywatermoy with his parents and siblings.
Park enlisted in the North Irish Horse in January 1918 soon after his eighteenth birthday (regimental number unknown). He served at the regiment's reserve depot at Antrim until the end of the war, and was demobilised in 1919.
After the war Park returned to the Ballymoney district. He married Annie Boyd on 8 November 1938. He died on 22 October 1968.
Daniel's brother William Parke also served in the war, in the North Irish Horse.
