Private Arthur Claude Walker

 

Arthur Claude Walker was born on 10 June 1889 at Kilcadden, Stranrolar, County Donegal, the last of eleven children of gentleman farmer (later magistrate) William Walker and his wife, Scottish-born Margaret Ferguson Walker (nee Cuthbertson).

The 1911 Irish Census shows him living at Kilcadden with his parents and two sisters. His occupation is recorded as "Trooper, North Irish Horse".

The date that Walker enlisted in the North Irish Horse, and his regimental number, are not known at present. Nor have I found any record that he served in this or any other regiment during the war.

Walker died at Kilcadden on 16 March 1966.
